Singing across borders: translating and interpreting Georges Brassens into Salento dialect
Nel centenario della nascita di Georges Brassens, cantautore francese tradotto in moltissime lingue e dialetti in tutto il mondo, verrà presentata la canzone Dans l’eau de la claire fontaine, tradotta in dialetto salentino dalla Prof.ssa Giulia D’Andrea. Sarà un’occasione per illustrare al grande pubblico le ricerche in corso sulla traduzione cantata, tematica ancora poco nota nell’ambito degli studi sulla traduzione.
On occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of George Brassens (1921), famous French singer song-writer whose songs have been translated worldwide, the song Dans l’eau de la claire fontaine will be presented in its Salento-dialect version by Giulia D’Andrea. It will be an occasion to illustrate the most recent studies on song translation, a still little known topic within the wider area of translation studies.
